Please Help Scott Thomas Get Necessary Treatment

Donation protected
Scott is a wonderful husband, grandpa, and friend to all. Thankfully, he has been cancer-free since 2022, but the aftermath of the intensive radiation treatments has left him with an extremely rare diagnosis of Osteoradionecrosis. Osteoradionecrosis (ORN) is a condition in which bone has died due to radiation exposure and is a side effect of radiation therapy for cancer in your head or neck. Patients with osteoradionecrosis of the jaw may develop exposed intraoral mandibular bone (exposed jawbone) and also develop osteomyelitis (inflammation of the bone or marrow) as well as fractures of the mandible. These patients may develop soft tissue necrosis as a further complication. Scott is already experiencing ALL of these painful side effects. In Scott's case he now has to have his lower right jaw replaced. They will take a bone from his leg as well as some of an artery to put into mouth giving Scott's jaw fresh blood. The surgery is 12 hours long. And he will have a feeding tube for a few weeks as well as a trake for a week. The doctor willkeep Scottheavily sedated for at least four days. He'll of course loose his teeth on that side. We could use help with trips down to Ann Arbor. We'll be going weekly for a while. Also we could use help with hotel for at least a week. Yes I'm looking at staying somewhere that has a deal with hospital.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated! If you are unable to donate, PLEASE SHARE with others.
