Exposed Destiny Short Film

THE PLEA FOR THE FILM:

Hello, I am Kimberly Nichelle a film maker and screenwriter seeking funding for my short film entitled “Exposed Destiny.”

Exposed Destiny is a film that highlights both homophobia and shows how a young man tries to use his “fear” to tear down another while building himself up.

The overall message is to “Walk in Your Truth” without hurting others.

Worldwide, hate crimes against the LGBTQ community are a massive problem. Many are constantly being harmed and violated.

FBI stats show that in 2016 there were over 6,000 hate crimes in the United States alone, and over 17% of those crimes were motivated by sexual orientation.  This is a 2% increase from 2015, and the numbers continue to rise.

I have seen first-hand how ignorance and fear can harm innocent people. Not too long ago, one of my colleagues was nearly beaten to death because of his sexual orientation.

It is so unfair to be treated less than human because of the homophobic syndrome that drives malicious intent.

I am asking you to be empowered along with me to support this film that will raise awareness against homophobic fear and ignorance…

…Because together we can punch the phobia.

Thanks so much.

Kimberly Nichelle

THE SYNOPSIS of the FILM:

Logline: A homophobic male afraid to walk in his own truth confronts a gay male about his sexuality who later is revealed as his potential employer.

Synopsis:

Robert is a homophobic male that ridicules gay males. While on a run one day, Robert bumps into Jeremy who he recognizes as being gay. Unbeknownst to him, he drops his cell phone and is signaled by Jeremy that he has dropped his phone. Instead of him being grateful, he grabs the phone in anger and condemns Jeremy while insulting him. Jeremy is hurt by Robert's reaction, but brushes it off as another person being ignorant.

Later that week, Robert has an interview for a reputable magazine company for a Senior Editor position. Unbeknownst to him, Jeremy is the owner of the company and the interviewer. Robert is surprised when he realizes that the same guy he humiliated in the park is the same guy who holds his career destiny in his hands.

When it is disclosed to Jeremy that Robert is the prospective employee, he handles the situation with tact and is very professional.  Nonetheless, Jeremy is faced with the dilemma-Should he hire Robert, or not?

STAY TUNED FOR THE TWIST!

HOW WILL THE $8500 BE SPENT?

It would normally take more than $10K to make a short film, so we are trying to make a dolla holla! We appreciate all the help that is offered. The following is a breakdown of how the money will be used:

*Paying the crew and cast - We would like to ensure that the crew and cast are paid fairly for their hard efforts in making this movie. The team behind "Exposed Destiny" believes that no one should work for free. We all have a special craft that warrants payment.

*Equipment - Camera, lenses, sound blankets, mics, etc.

* Props - Making the set look believable

*Food for cast and crew - Working on a film's set is long and laborious and not all the time glamous. Sometimes we don't get to stop, leave the venue and return; and sometimes we may be filming in a remote location. Without food and water, it is impossible to be productive and focused. We want to make sure that everyone is fed so that their strength can be used to make this move exemplary.

Other expenses - Location fees, travel, wardrobe accessories, etc.

Festival Fees - Once the film is complete, we will have to pay for festival entries. This can be a costly expense.  Everytime we enter the film into a festival there will be a a cost.

MARKETING! MARKETING! MARKETING! -

Marketing the film is the key to its success. Without  marketing  the movie is dead.  It's imperative that we  communicate that the movie is out , and to show what it represents.

WHAT'S THE NEXT STEP?

Without YOUR help, Exposed Destiny will not make it to the screen.

PLEASE SUPPORT THE FILM IN ANY WAY YOU ARE ABLE.

NO CONTRIBUTION IS TOO SMALL.

PLEASE POST THE CAMPAIGN ON YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA SITES TO HELP US SPREAD THE WORD.

OUR SINCERE THANKS.
