Later this year, I’ll be heading to Cambodia as a volunteer sonographer with EveryMum (previously The 2h Project), where I’ll be supporting and teaching local midwives. EveryMum is doing incredible work to improve maternal healthcare by establishing sustainable clinics and programs in communities that need them most.
Every year, over a quarter of a million mothers and babies lose their lives needlessly. We can change this reality with more training, better resourcing, education and skilled support.
EveryMum is a organisation connecting health professionals in Australia with the frontline of maternal care in a developing country like Cambodia. Most pregnancy and birthing complications that result in death are preventable or treatable. Improving the knowledge and amount of skilled health professionals is key to better outcomes.
As volunteers, we pay our own way, but we also have the chance to raise funds for EveryMum to help save lives by:
-Empowering communities through delivering skilled care and maternal healthcare training
-Building partnerships with local governments
-Supporting innovations in healthcare strategies that close the gap
-Providing tools and equipment to improve survival rates
-Investing in solutions that work in a wide variety of communities
-Delivering life-saving care in communities where it’s needed the most.
And so much more!
Together, we can help ensure more women survive childbirth and get the care they need.
Thank you so much for your support
