Help Abbie & Aiden Honor Everest's Memory

Donation protected
My beautiful baby girl, Abbie, and her amazing boyfriend, Aiden, devastatingly and unexpectedly welcomed their angel, Everest Rain, into this world still born this past week. Nothing can prepare you to hear those words and experience this tragedy. My daughter did "everything right". She kept journals and researched all the do's and don'ts's anyone could think of when she found out she was expecting her first child. Heartbreakingly, life is unfair sometimes and doesn't always turn out how we wished it could.

A few days after holding their sweet child, upon awaiting discharge paperwork, my daughter spiked a sudden high fever. Soon after, her body began shaking slightly but within minutes, her whole body was shaking and she lost feeling in her lower extremities. She became faint and started having difficulty breathing. The MET team (Medical Emergency Team) sprinted down the hallway to save her from what was later deemed septic shock. Had she been discharged that morning, her care team said she would have certainly flat-lined at home that evening.

She became stable, but it wouldn't be long before she had a severe allergic reaction to the antibiotics started to combat a kidney and bladder infection, among other infections throughout her body. She developed a rash on both sides of her neck, began sweating profusely and shaking once again, then her face began swelling rapidly right in front of our eyes. Her lips lost all color, then began turning white and eventually blue. The MET team again sprinted down the hall and prevented her from going into we were told was nearly anaphylactic shock. She had multiple reactions/attacks over the course of the next few days. We are thankful for the MET team and the rest of those who cared for Abbie during this extremely difficult time.

Abbie is doing well as I write this, but the medical bills from a week-long stay in the birthing center due to beds being unavailable in the ICU have began mounting up. Abbie was hospitalized for a little over a week before she was stable enough for discharge.

As difficult as it is for myself and my family to ask others for their hard-earned money, we are kindly asking for your donations to help Abbie & Aiden as they try to recover from this terrible, unfair tragedy. The money will be used to pay for medical bills, but also to help honor the memory of Everest by way of keepsakes, pictures and possibly a decorated urn to place Everest's remains. If you are able to help in any way, our family would be forever grateful and thankful.

In closing, I thank you for reading and for considering to help, I appreciate it. Please keep Abbie, Aiden and the rest of our combined families in your thoughts and prayers during this time. Thank you.
