Evan Kirkman-Fire Relief Fund
Donation protected
Last night a 2 alarm fire destroyed the home of our dear friend Evan Kirkman. The building where he lived was home to 13 other people who have also all been displaced. We will do our best to keep all donors informed of any other fundraising efforts for the other residents.
Read Evan's story below, but as we have reached our goal please begin to redirect funds to a recently created fund for the remaining residents found here:
https://www.gofundme.com/f/mlk-house-fire-recovery-fund?utm_source=customer&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&utm_medium=copy_link-tip
All of these people have lost everything they own including the place where they lay their heads. Any amount you can give is acceptable and appreciated. Also please take the time to share the above link and help everyone get back on their feet. Thank you
Evan woke up to his neighbor yelling outside and was forced to jump from a second story window in order to escape the fire. He is an artist currently struggling to find work due to the coronavirus. All of his belongings were destroyed including his paintings, sentimental items collected over the years from friends and family, his clothes, music equipment, a computer, furniture, and everything else he owned.
We estimate that $10,000 is a reasonable amount to replace essential items like clothing, shoes, furniture, bedding, linens, kitchen ware, etc, cover any medical costs, and provide stability for a few months while he gets back on his feet.
Please donate whatever you can. Many thanks and much love to you all.
