I’m starting this fundraiser for my best friend and her family after a devastating car accident changed their lives forever. On February 13, 2026, five teens were traveling on Highway 75 to a Valentine’s dance when they were hit by a woman driving 107 mph. The Prius they were in was destroyed, and the impact left these kids facing painful injuries, ongoing treatment, and a long road ahead.

A.E., who was driving, suffered multiple broken bones and torn ligaments in his wrist, hand, shoulder, both hips, and left knee. He has already had surgery on his wrist, but it will need to be done again. He has also had recent surgeries on his shoulder and hip, with another hip surgery and knee surgery still ahead.

I.E, suffered a broken pelvis, spent 8 weeks in a wheelchair, and is still dealing with intense pain and difficulty walking.

J.E., suffered a fractured pelvis and a fractured L5. What happened that night continues to affect them every day.

My best friend’s family has 11 people in their household, and the financial strain has been overwhelming. Even with health insurance, the medical bills keep piling up, and the boys need specialized treatment that insurance does not fully cover. On top of that, they have lost the car the teens were riding in and are trying to manage transportation needs while keeping up with care.

Because these medical and transportation needs are ongoing, recurring donations would make a meaningful difference in helping my best friend’s family stay above water as the boys continue treatment. One-time donations are also deeply appreciated and will help right away.

The woman that hit the kids was underinsured. There won't be much money to cover things as it is from the insurance companies, and we found out today that she passed away this week. We had a criminal and civil case against her and now our cases are dead in the water.

So, our kids will go on suffering, without any real closure. No justice, no compensation. Please help my best friend, people who I love like my own family, to stay above water while the kids get the treatment they need to possibly get back some sense of normalcy.
