Ethan's trip - World Scholar's Cup
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Ethan Lorenz. I am a seventh grade student at Monroe Middle School. I love participating in after school activities such as track, cross country, and chess club. I am an avid reader with a love of comic books, and I also love to draw. I've had an average 3.8 to 4.0 GPA and hope to keep it that way.
Recently, I participated in an academic global competition called The World Scholars Cup, which includes team debate, collaborative writing and many group activities surrounding new topics chosen by the organization every year. This year's theme is An Entangled World. A detailed view of the subject matter can be found here: http://www.scholarscup.org/subjects
This March, our school participated in the San Jose regional round, hosted at our local high school. There, I earned a silver medal in the social studies category and ranked in the top 25% in History and Arts. My team and I qualified to join the next round of the competition in Barcelona, Spain July 22nd - 27th.
"More than 5,000 scholars from over 50 countries: three times a year we invite qualifying teams from all over the world to join us for Global Rounds that bring together our entire international community."
More info here:

My goal is to raise enough money to cover the costs of registration, my flight, transportation, and hotel. The first deadline is April 10th. I need to raise $695 by this date.
If you are local, I hope to earn your donation by doing small jobs like yard work, dog walking, etc... If you have something for me to do, please reach out to my parents or comment below.
My hope is that this experience allows me to make new friends across the globe, expose me to new cultures, and provide me with knowledge that will stay with me forever.
Any money raised over the goal amount will be distributed to other teammates.
I appreciate your support on this journey!
