Road to Recovery for Ethan Riddle!

On Sunday March 18th, after his daily training for the Columbus Marathon, Ethan was riding his bike through Cincinnati, OH on his way to meet up with some friends at a local pub. He was riding southbound, when a distracted driver in an SUV failed to yield while turning left and struck him - crushing his left side and throwing him off his bike.

Ethan was extremely injured. Loosing over 15% of his blood and in severe pain he was rushed to UC Medical Trauma Center for treatment. He sustained a broken left femur that penetrated his thigh, and a fractured knee, hip, and shin. He is currently still at UC recovering, where he received a blood transfusion on Tuesday, March 20th because of his blood loss.

Due to his injuries sustained from the accident, it will be well over a year before he's able to recover and get back to his day-to-day contract work. He won't have any income coming in to sustain his monthly expenses, and has no health insurance to pay for his rising medical bills.

He is an artist, welder, builder, runner, climber and friend to all. He is the sweetest, nicest, and most caring person we know and sadly has a long road ahead of him. He's extremely resilient and optimistic about his recovery, but very sad he won’t be able to participate in the Columbus Marathon he’s been training so hard for.

We (roommates'/best friend's) just want him free from any financial worry so he can focus all his energy on healing and getting back on his feet! Any donation you can give will be greatly appreciated, cherished, and utilized to help Ethan on his road to recovery.

Thank you so much for reading. We will be posting updates on his recovery periodically through this site.
