Carrizo/Comecrudo Nation of Texas

Donation protected

Carrizo/Comecrudo Tribal Nation is reclaiming Ancestral Villages to protect the water, ancestral tribal burials, sacred sites, and the Rio Grande Sacred Sites from divisive wall.

CCNT chooses retain the word Village, as the Village is permanent, whereas a camp is temporary.  The Cotoname Village is in the middle of notorious Eagle Ford Shale fracking wells.  The Cotoname is one of the thirteen council fires of the Esto'k  Gna or Carrizo/Comecrudo.

We are seeking to reclaim the Araname Village to stand against the desecration of Ancestral Sacred Sites at Elm Creek in Quemado, Texas.  Dos Republicas Coal Mine continues to dig up death and releasing into living. The Jacaname Village is pressing to be developed  to stand in protection of the Threaten 'La Sal Del Rey' and the Garcia Pasture in the wetlands of mouth of the Rio Grande.

Dimmitt, Jim Hogg, Kleburg, Cameron, Starr, Willacy, McMullen, Wilson, Maverick, and others on sour Texas need to wake up to the devastation that Oil an Gas bullies are purpertrating.  Falsifying Environmental Impact Studies and Historical study coverups are part of increased Fracking and drilling permits.

The above pictograph is found in the Seminole Canyon north of the Rio Grande show a snake being confronted by the Esto'k Gna Deer Dancer spirit.  The horizontal pipes are actual drill bits.  Yes it is prophetic artistic vision.

CCNT Is willing to reclaim their permanent ancestral villages to heal the areas that have been traumatized by oil companies coming in and moving out and demoralizing the communities that unwillingly have been impacted socially, mentally, emotionally, physically, and economically.  Heaing from loss of jobs and salaries below the minimum wage ad loss of businesses has no liability and accountability by Oil and Gas moguls who only come in and suck the life of human andvwildlife communities.  Fracking effects are prominent on the wildlife and plant kingdoms, as well.  The ocelot, American Kestrel, red wolf, horned toads, and many other species are threaten by the implorable act against life.

Please keep alive the spirit of the Esto'k Gna villages and protection of the natural resources of the Earth our planet.

Water, Air, Earth, and Fire are elements that sit at the four cardinal directions.  Protecting and defending our Water and Air means we move forward in concert with our needs as human beings and the needs of the rest of the natural world.

The Threat

Fracking in these delicate eco-systems as well as a pipeline transporting the fracked oil along the Rio Grande, threatens this habitat. We are called to defend the these sacred sites from the liquid natural gas being transported to the coast.

Fracking disturbs the underground caverns, and pushes oil into what would otherwise be pristine spring water, turning it to poison.

The wildlife is helpless to defend itself.  Each animal, bird, worm, bee, snake, wild cat, bear and wolf are threatened and defenceless against the onslaught.   These threats — to our land, our water, and our sovereignty — demand that as Tribal people of Texas step forward as Water Protectors.

Our duty and responsibility as original people of Texas is to defend the lives of all our relatives: four-leggeds, swimmers, winged ones, crawlers, and plant relatives.  All is sacred and connected to us, the two-leggeds.  We must remain connected from our Mother Earth and the life-giving resources that we two-leggeds need to live, and pipeline construction threatens that connection.

Our Work

Carrizo/Comecrudo Nation of Texas (CCNT) is a charity concerned with the welfare of human life.  The CCNT, along with the Council of Texas Natives, is setting up prayer camps to stand for the these life giving waters.  This camp will be Texas Native, spiritually focused to push further fracking out of the sacred areas of the Big Bend and the whole Rio Grande Valley.  For this we need funding.

We need donations to pay for camp supplies like a solar generator, firewood, food, and food storage. Please, give what you can. Everything that helps us to sustain our presence on that land, allows us to protect the precious water.
