Hi, I’m Kamaria Webb — but these days, I go by Mari. Most know me by KK.
For the past decade, I’ve been a full-time mom — a mompreneur, creator, caregiver, and stay-at-home mama doing everything I can to hold it all together. But behind the scenes, I was quietly battling undiagnosed illness—my body was breaking down, and doctors kept dismissing it as mental health because…I’m am Black woman on Medicaid.
As black women our pain is too often ignored when we can’t afford better care. It wasn’t until I could pay out-of-pocket for insurance that I was finally diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder and fibromyalgia—invisible conditions that cripple my body and energy every single day.
Behind the pretty photos and the strong face… I’ve been suffering in silence. Often alone. Just me and Kaye. Always in survival mode. ⸻
I’m living proof the T.R.A.P. is real. And I’m still fighting my way out—so I can lead others through it too.
This GoFundMe is not just about money. It’s about me sharing my truth. It’s about liberation. It’s about raising awareness and social justice—for a cause I’ve lived through, cried over, and finally have the courage to speak on publicly.
I’m done hiding. Tired of being misjudged. Tired of being mishandled. It’s time to find my tribe: women like me — and allies who understand our differences and can help us overcome our struggles.
⸻ Two years ago, after a lifetime of trauma, abuse, and misdiagnosis, I completed a biblical-based self-awareness program. That journey changed my life—and led me to create: ✨ ThA Girl Trap A faith-based safe space and community for Black women who are:
•Mentally or emotionally abused
•Physically harmed and silenced
•Misdiagnosed or dismissed by systems
• Forced into trauma, like young abortions
• Thrown away, abandoned, kicked out, and ignored
•Painted as villains for speaking truth
• Runaways, survivors of toxic home
•Raised without guidance, love, or structure
•Victims of systems that don’t support us
•Feeling ashamed, misunderstood, unloved
• Constantly giving without being refilled
• Labeled “crazy” or “angry Black women”
• Desperate for love in all the wrong places
• Yet still fighting to survive and rise ⸻
This isn’t just my story. It’s the untold story of thousands of Black girls living in what I call “The T.R.A.P.”
T.R.A.P. =
•T=Toxic Cycles
•R= Restrictive Mindsets
•A= Artificial Attachments
•Psychological Barriers
ThA Girl Trap is the safe space I never had—and wouldn’t have unless I created it. A place to: Heal · Grow · Be Seen · Be Heard · Build Structure · Break Free ⸻
The truth is I am still in ThA T.R.A.P
This GoFundMe will help me and my daughter out of chronic homelessness and instability so I can:
• Secure stable housing & transportation
• Pay legal fees,
•Medical & mental health care
•Launch Tha Girl Trap nonprofit & speaking career
• Build community & share awareness through social platforms Every dollar is an investment in a movement — for us, by us.
I’ve built the business plan. I have the vision. Now I just need your help to execute. ⸻ ✨
Final Words: They say it takes a village to raise a child—I believe it takes a nation to heal its women.
If you’ve ever struggled… If you’ve ever loved a single mom… If you believe in second chances and new beginnings—
Please donate, share, or connect us with someone who can help. Even $1 helps. If you can offer housing, rides, remote work, mentorship, connections, spend time with Kaye and I, prayer, or even a call to check on —all of it matters.
From the bottom of our hearts, Thank you for being part of our village. With gratitude & resilience, — Mari & Kaye #ThaGirlTrap #HelpUsRebuild #SingleMomStrong #SurvivorToCEO #RealStoriesMatter
