Erik has touched so many lives, furry and human.  He was taken to soon.  As a family we are all grieving his passing, there are no words for such a deep loss and the pain that goes with it.   He was an inspiration to many people young and old.  He inspired dogs to be the best they could be.   He loved the gym, he loved lifting weights and inspired many others to stay in shape.  He was devoted to our family, and always ready to say “I love you”.  He cared about his aunts and uncles and cousins, and there babies so very deeply.  He always made an effort to stay in touch with the whole family no matter where or what county the live in.  I am Eriks Aunt “Butch”, I took care of him as a baby and was his friend and Aunt as he grew up.  He would bring his dogs to Junction Park in Boulder Creek, that was right next my house, and together we would watch them play, and I would watch him exercise them, in the swimming hole.  We spent many afternoons watching the river together with his dogs.  We have spent many holidays together with our family, eating,  listening to his funny jokes, and enjoying the roaring fire together.  He was always there to help me with anything I needed, he was my nephew and my friend, I love him forever.  The funds raised will be used to assist the family with his final expenses, and go to a non-profit, K9 Mission, that takes care of and adopts out retired Police K9’s dogs and retired Military dogs.  As a family we thank each and everyone of you for your help.  We all understand he had many many people that love him.  My sister, his Ma, Carmen Berteaux will be in charge of the funds.  In loving memory of Erik we do this.
