The past few weeks have been challenging for our department, but as always, we come together to support each other like a true family.

On a recent difficult morning, after attending the funeral of one of our members, FF Caleb Dann returned home to Deltona. He decided to join Makenzie and Enzo at a birthday party after speaking with Makenzie and leaving station 25. The party was filled with laughter and joy, especially for the kids enjoying a bounce house water slide. It was a perfect afternoon—until it wasn't.

Tragically, Enzo lost consciousness after coming down the water slide and inhaled a significant amount of water. Caleb immediately sprang into action, performing life-saving measures until fire rescue arrived. Our colleagues at Orange City Fire Rescue & Volusia County EMS quickly transported Enzo to the nearest facility. He was stabilized and then transferred to AdventHealth for Children in Orlando.

Enzo is now in the PICU, where he is being sedated and kept on a ventilator as doctors work to remove fluids, fight infection, and monitor fluid on his brain.

We ask for your prayers and positive thoughts for Caleb, Makenzie, Will and Enzo as they navigate this challenging time. While they deeply appreciate everyone's support, they also need a few days to process everything that's happening.

To help cover Enzo's medical expenses, we've set up this GoFundMe campaign with a goal of raising $20,000. Any contribution, big or small, will be immensely appreciated. Your support means the world to us and helps remind us of the strength and love within our community.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
