Help End Whale Hunting in Iceland

We are working in Iceland on a campaign to end commercial whaling.

Last Whaling Station

We are dedicated to ending commercial whaling in Iceland. Last year, through our collaborative efforts with Icelandic partners, we successfully saved at least 125 fin whales, including pregnant whales. Despite our achievements, Iceland has issued a one-year permit to hunt 128 endangered fin whales. While it may be too late for this summer's hunt, the whaler says he intends to seek a permit for next summer. We must act now to ensure whaling ends for good in Iceland.

Our Achievements

Over the past year, we have organized five major events in Reykjavik to support whale conservation. These events featured notable artists such as Bjork, Axel Flóvent, and GDRN; esteemed writers including Andri Snær Magnason, Sjón, and Tom Mustill; renowned actors such Anita Briem; and leading scientists from the teams that had the first conversation with a humpback whale and discovered the sperm whale alphabet.

And we successfully occupied the whaling boats stopping them from hunting for several days, which brought significant awareness to the issue

Our Future Plans

In the coming months, we will:

. Host more events in Reykjavik to raise awareness and support for whale conservation

. Work with lawyers and politicians to advocate for legislative changes to end whaling permanently

. Finish a documentary that could help raise even more awareness
