Hi, my name is Michele Cavalier, and I didn’t imagined I’d be asking for help in this way. But here I am.
Earlier this year, I had to leave my job due to ongoing medical issue - arthritic in nature. I’ve been living on early Social Security since March, and working to make ends meet with side jobs.
Then, in late July I started experiencing debilitating pain episodes that lasted 3-4 hours a day, leaving me exhausted, searching for answers and making it difficult to work at all.
After 2 months of searching for the reason for these pain episodes, I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in late September and just had a hysterectomy last week to remove the cancer. The pathology report is not yet back.
**The pathology report is back. I have been further diagnosed with Stage 3C Endometrial cancer. This means it has reached outside my uterus but is at this point confined to my pelvic area.
This also means I need chemo - 6 treatments every 3 weeks - which includes immunotherapy. After this is complete I will need immunotherapy treatments every 6 weeks for up to 2 years.
Needless to say, this is a bit daunting as originally I thought I was going to have 3 radiation treatments over 1 week :/ **
With added medical expenses and other expenses I was already having a hard time keeping up with, any support, no matter the amount, would make a difference and help me stay afloat while I recover and wait for what comes next.
Any help would go toward essential living costs and medical-related expenses during this time.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any help you can offer—whether it’s donating or sharing this with others. I am deeply grateful.
