MOISHE’S STORY:

Moishe was born into a happy, bustling busy home. His father, a respected Talmud Chacham. His mother, adeptly managed and cared for Moishe and his 10 siblings. But when Moishe turned five, tragedy struck.  His beloved father fell ill and passed away. His mother, unable to cope with her devastating loss and care for her 11 children, sent them to live with various relatives and friends. Separated from all he knew and held dear, Moishe’s world had collapsed and disappeared, placing him in a bewildering new environment.  Moishe’s life continued on and he learned to cope with his new reality. But at the age of 17, the hand of strife struck again and he was diagnosed with a severe, progressive cancer. Rigorous treatments ensued, and at many points in time, it seemed that all was lost and Moishe was on his way to his Maker, so ill was he.  Miraculously, he pulled through and recovered!  But the wheel of tragedy had not yet completed its circle.  Moishe’s younger brother too fell ill but sadly, did not receive salvation.  He passed away and the dispersed family was once again reunited- in Shiva. 

So much sadness.  So much pain.  So much horror.  Isn’t it time for it to end?
