HELP!!!!!!CURB HUNGER IN OUR COMMUNITY
HELP!!!!!!BUILD AN AQUAPONICS FOOD SYSTEM
We are the students from St. Patrick’s college, Awka in Anambra State, South-East, Nigeria. A school owned by the Catholic Diocese of Awka. We are reaching out to you because we need your financial assistance towards achieving a sustainable community with an availability and access to nutritious foods through:
• Building an Aquaponics system in the college and for the benefits of the community where our school is located.
• Having a productive farm which will help to provide food for the students and the community members.
• Feed the students at lunch at intervals.
• Sell at a reduced rice to the community members.
As people with knowledge of Aquaponics, we wish to utilize this knowledge to provide and make food available to our host community which will help us to curb hunger and live healthier. But, these plans may not be feasible because of zero availability of funds to carry out this project. Hence, we have succeeded in getting only a plot of land to start the plan and have a little source of water which may not be always flowing especially when there is power failure. So, we need you to support us with this to help us achieve this project for the community. Our goal is to raise $2,500 for: Fish, Fish tanks, Grow beds, Grow media, Water pump, Air pump with air stones, PVC piping with fittings, Uniseals and/or bulkheads, Siphons, Rockwool seed starting cubes, Seed starting trays, Water testing kits, EC or TDS meter, etc.
In achieving this, we hope to be able to feed the students for lunch and also sell to the host community at a subsided rate while also teaching them how to build this in their garden to help them eat and live healthier. To know that we can count on the lovers of humanity and people who love agriculture to build a strong support system for us would be wholly appreciative and also sharing it with your network would be awesome.
