Emily's Hip Surgery
Donation protected
Hi! This is Emily. Emily is a very cool agender human, dancer, dog parent, partner, sibling, friend, and an all-around lovely person to know. Emily has a rare condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which is a genetically inherited condition that affects connective tissues throughout the body. Ehlers-Danlos makes Emily more prone to injuries and chronic pain. In January, Emily was diagnosed with a labral tear and Femoroacetabular Impingement (basically, Emily's hip socket is misshapen and this caused the cartilage in Em's hip to tear.) Emily needs surgery to correct this painful problem right away. The surgery will leave Emily unable to work for 12 weeks. As a bartender and student, taking that much time off with little notice is extremely difficult. So, while insurance will cover much of the cost of surgery, Em needs help with bills, physical therapy, and mobility aids. If you know Emily, you know that Em possesses an enormous ability to show up and be there for any and everyone; Em's love is boundless! It's our turn to show up for Emily so if you have the funds to share with this queer baddie, please consider doing so. Your help will be so appreciated, and hopefully, we can all see Emily dancing again very soon.
