Support Emily Berezowsky

Emily Berezowsky is a lot of things to a lot of people. In addition to being an incredible wife and mother (to two-year old Max) she is a compassionate ear, a hearty laugh, and a healing touch. Whether you know her as a family member, a friend, a masseuse, a cohort member, a student, an artist, a wedding officiant, a bird enthusiast, a familiar face at the playground, or just the best damn confidant you could ever hope for, now is the time for us to come to her aid. 

This past Tuesday, Emily underwent Brain Surgery to remove a 2 cm tumor pressing against her brain stem right above C1. The surgery was very successful and Emily was sent home to recover in a record breaking 2 days! As of today, the tumor has been diagnosed as Ependymoma, a rare, but treatable form of spinal tumors. She will be undergoing a 5 to 6 week, Monday through Friday, course of specialized proton radiation therapy. The goal of which is to arrest growth, reduce tumors, and ultimately eliminate the invaders. 

Emily's treatments will take place in Warrenville, IL. And while the Berezowsky's currently live in Evanston, IL they are slated to sell their condo and buy a house in Kalamazoo, MI (timing really is everything). This fund was created to help support the Berezowskys in this time of uncertainty and particularly help take the financial strain off of the move, Max care and frequent travel back and forth to treatment. 

A lot of us are feeling like we want to do more to help. And of course we can't do any of the things Emily would do for us. Because she is one and only. This is one way we can help.
