Your first thought when looking at this GoFund Me page was “What is DECA”, so I thought I would start off by sharing a little about what DECA means to me and why I am asking for your support to run for North Atlantic Region Vice President. DECA Inc’s mission is to prepare “emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.” Although in my words DECA is a second family. It is a unique environment that challenges you to be the best you can while creating a world that provides a forum for creativity, entrepreneurship and business skills in a positive and supportive light. DECA provides an atmosphere where students can bring their ideas and aspirations to life.
My DECA career started my first year in high school and has become my passion since the day I started. Throughout my four years of high school I have been lucky enough to serve as a Provincial officer for DECA Ontario for the last two years and currently, I am the President of DECA Ontario. DECA Ontario is Canada’s largest youth business organization and for the last two years, I have been fortunate enough to lead over 12500 students from across Ontario. Throughout my time as President, my main goal has been to empower students from across Ontario because I am a true believer that the students in DECA are the next generation of business leaders.
This year I have decided to run for North Atlantic Region because I am hoping to inspire my peers not only from Canada but from across the globe. As North Atlantic Region Vice President I would be the representation of over 210 000 students from across the World. I would be responsible for serving the North Atlantic Region and leading the associations within the Region. This would include attending conferences, maintaining communication within the region, and promoting the growth and development of the DECA program across the world.
The $6000 that I have asked in sponsorship will be used in a variety of ways. $2000 will be used for giveaways at my campaign booth, $1000 for giveaways for caucus meetings with associations, $1000 for printed material such as flyers and brochures, and finally $2000 for T-Shirts, Polos, banners and campaign booth. I have saved $1000 personally but I will need $6000 more to have my campaign come to life. Any contribution is appreciated!
My passion for empowering youth and my passion for business has only grown over the past four years in my high school career. I believe that if I were elected as North Atlantic Region Vice President I would be able to empower students across the world and help develop the next generation of business leaders. Becoming NARVP is a dream of mine, but I believe that with you support this dream will become a reality.
