Emily Manuel's Fearless Fight Needs You
On June 7th, 2021, our beautiful 27-year-old Emily Rose Manuel was involved in a horrific head-on collision. She and her little family - husband Chris and three-year-old Luna - urgently need your assistance with living expenses as she fights with all her might to recover.
Emily was taken to North Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA after the accident. By the grace of God, and the caring hands of the EMTs and the medical center's trauma team, she is alive. NGMC's healthcare professionals, support staff, and chaplains are an immense blessing and our family cannot thank them enough for all they have done.
The list of Emily's injuries is long. All four extremities are broken with varying degrees of severity. The worst - a right compound femur fracture and crushed knee. Both feet have multiple broken bones. She has many broken ribs and a cracked sternum. Her collar bones are broken along with one shoulder blade. She has numerous facial and eye socket fractures that will require complete reconstruction. Her liver was lacerated, one lung punctured, and her heart bruised. She also has a brain bleed from rapid deceleration. She is on a ventilator and feeding tube and will have her jaw wired shut. Yesterday she had her ninth surgery to stabilize both arms and both legs. Her feet will require more surgeries as will her facial bones. While she can wiggle her right fingers and toes, there is no response yet on her left side.
At the least, she faces a year in recovery before she might be able to work again. That is why the need for your support is so urgent.
Emily is married to her wonderful husband Chris. They have a beautiful 3-year-old daughter named Luna. These funds will help their little family pay bills and survive until Emily can recover. The funds will also help modify their home in Winder, GA, to include hand rails and wheelchair ramps. Anything left over will go toward medical bills.
Our family is incredibly blessed to have so many caring people who have shown us so much love during this devastating time. God is surrounding Emily, Chris, and Luna with healing love. Faith is THE reason we are able to endure this trial. Prayers are being lifted up for our family all across this country - our prayer warrior count is 1,000+! Emily is fighting so hard to recover so she can be with Chris and Luna again. We are so grateful for each day's blessings and small positive steps, but the road to recovery is a long one.
