Emergency Rent Update: We Need Your Help to Stay Housed
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Rob and I are behind on our rent again, and we are reaching a critical point. Despite doing everything we can, we currently owe our landlord $2,000 for February and March. Additionally, our April rent of $1,875 is due tomorrow.
We are facing a total gap of $3,875 to keep a roof over our heads this spring. Since January, I have been able to pay $3,577 myself using my Social Security and small pension, but the math of our current situation has simply become impossible to manage alone.
If you are able to donate, any amount helps us close this immediate gap. If you cannot donate, please share our link today. Every share brings our story to someone who might be able to help us stay in our home.
The traditional job market has been slow to respond to my experience as a Salesforce Consultant, and I am still filling out applications every day.
Physically, things remain very difficult. I am still struggling with severe nerve pain in my back, legs, and feet, making it incredibly painful to walk even short distances. I am holding onto hope for a second opinion appointment this May. Because of these ongoing challenges, I am currently working with an attorney to apply for Social Security Disability. This is a necessary step to secure our future, and my sincere hope is that once this is settled and my business is launched, I will no longer need to ask for the help of friends.
We are not sitting idle while we wait for help. I am pouring my energy into my startup company, working on the business plan and prototype to create our own path to self-sufficiency. Your support isn't just paying a bill—it is buying me the time to launch this venture.
Additionally, Rob is doing his best to manage his Crohn’s, mental health, and his Type 2 Diabetes. Alongside growing his Substack audience, he has officially started writing a book.
Thank you for being our village. We are working every day to reach a point where we can pay this kindness forward.
With love and hope,
Lisa and Rob
