Emergency Fund: Willie C's in the NICU

"Willie C" is in the NICU at St Louis Children's Hospital.  Our little four day old is getting stronger and receiving the best possible care and mama's milk.  She was born on Tuesday morning and transferred on Thursday afternoon.  Maggie and Chris have followed.  The big kids are at Grannie Annie's.

It's been a bumpy road and this wild ride has many financial hardships, and all the previous donations went to the attic renovation.  Tremendous progress was made by Chris and the kids and which will continue, in their absence, thanks to the hard work of cherished friends!

If you are able, please consider donating to help them with the very unexpected costs of staying close to Willie C.  The Ronald McDonald House is closed and while staying with friends would be convenient, it is too dangerous during the pandemic and the regular visits to the NICU.  These funds will help them secure a hotel, purchase food and gas, and reduce the stress of worrying about being pulled away from their newborn because of lack of funds to keep them close--heart to heart.  Thanks you so much for considering a donation.  Every donation, large or small, decreases their stress.

Baby Details:  Amarylladanea Willona Corona ("Willie C") was born Tuesday morning, July 21, 2020 at 8:06 am.  Weight: 11#13 oz and is 21" long.  Believe it or not, Maggie is recovering swiftly.

The Fund, A Well Feathered Nest for Baby 66 and Family, has been established to assist Maggie VI Beedles Kaos and Chris Feaster in completing a few household projects. Every little bit helps. All contribution are welcome.  If you are looking for the unique Fund-A-Need list, scroll to the bottom of our story.  Please specify in the comments which item you'd like your funds to purchase.

Not only did Maggie and Chris purchase their first home in 2020, but they are expecting a new baby in early August.  The pandemic of 2020 has given all of us unexpected twists and turns.  For Maggie and Chris, Feaster’s Route 66 Bistro, the family food truck, has been closed for the season. To keep the community and themselves safe they have stayed in isolation and social distanced. The shortfall of income has stalled planned expansion to create a second-floor bedroom spaces for the girls. The DIY project is halfway there. The family goal is to make the second-floor bedroom spaces livable by mid-July or ASAP.

If you know Maggie and Chris, serving their community is their favorite thing.  Many of us have benefited from the gift of their time and talents.  It is time for us to pay it forward and give back to a family that is always giving. Creating a happy homestead is a dream the Kaos family share.  They are all working toward a goal together and will appreciate any help you can give.  Small contributions make a difference.

Through the years Amadeus, Gaea and Nice have shared a bedroom, split spaces and to accommodate space for a girl’s bedroom and a boy’s bedroom, Maggie and Chris have had their personal space in a damp basement.  The family is part way thru their opening of the attic space to create loft bedroom spaces for the girls. Amadeus would have the smaller first floor bedroom.  His parents and new baby sibling would share the larger first floor bedroom.  The damp basement would continue to be a space for staging for Food Truck Vending and Home School Co-Op teaching days. In August, Amadeus will be 14 and Nice will be 10. In September, Gaea turns 13.  Making the loft bedroom space livable is our goal.  Teens and Tweens need a space to call their own

As Maggie’s mom with her sister, Patti Beedles and brother, Cyrus Beedles, we are not able to “be there” like we would love to be when the new baby arrives. So we created this fund and need your help. It is difficult to stand by when we recognize the need to “nest” before the baby arrives.  I cannot tell you how much it means to me to have you help us celebrate the arrival of Baby 66 and support the development of a safe and happy homestead for the Kaos family. Thank you for sharing your compassion and love for a wonderful family.  I love them too!
