Emergency Aid for Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa

Donation protected
Dear all!
We are a group of friends (represented by Alexandra Schneider and Sergio Cataneo-Simonti) who live in Germany and part-time in Jamaica, united by our deep love for this island.

At the moment, we are all deeply shaken and very, very worried about our friends, family, and all the residents of Jamaica affected by the hurricane.
After careful consideration, we have decided:

We will forward a part of the donations received here to the Breds Foundation, as it is a non-profit organization based in Treasure Beach with extensive experience in hurricane relief.
(Calabash Bay P.A., Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth, under the direction of Jason Henzell, https://bredsfoundation.org/)

An other part of the donations will be distributed in the severely affected community of Belmont (Peter Tosh Town) in cooperation with respected, long-time residents like Brian Wedderburn (http://www.natureroots.de/meet_de.html) who knows everyone in his community and can therefore provide immediate, direct assistance to those most in need.

We feel a deep connection to this place and have many friends and also relatives there. Together, we will provide direct aid to the almost completely destroyed community to ensure that support reaches those most in need quickly, fairly, and directly.
Someone from our team will be on-site in a few weeks to support the people; this flight was booked months ago.

If we receive a call for help from people who, due to their remote living situation, do not yet have access to public aid, we will send money for food.

We will send you all receipts for transfers we make and for all purchases made on-site as soon as the money can be transferred and forwarded. We will take photos and videos on-site and publish them in the update.

We are committed to transparency, accountability, and providing fast, direct assistance.

Our top priority is life-saving support:

-Clean water and food
-Infant formula and hygiene products
-Clothing and medical supplies
-Shelter and emergency aid
-Animal feed
Our donations directly benefit families who have lost everything.
We want to support the reconstruction of infrastructure as quickly as possible.
For this, we need materials for rebuilding houses
(wood, screws, nails, corrugated iron, bricks, etc.).
We want to make homes habitable again and help small businesses get back on their feet.
In addition, we want to support farmers in rebuilding their fields and plantations. Jamaica's devastated south coast is a vital agricultural region that feeds the entire country.

Every bit of support counts now so we can plan where and how the funds can be used most effectively.

Regardless of the destruction and immense suffering Jamaica is currently experiencing, and whatever else may come, people should be able to trust one another and not be disappointed.

Every cent goes directly to reconstruction—not to bureaucracy.

Jamaica has given so much to the world;
it's time to give something back!

I urge EVERYONE—friends, family, acquaintances, and even strangers—to respond to this appeal and support this relief effort.
One LOVE!
