Ellie's world was turned upside down on December 10, 2022. She was taken to the Emergency room for severe headaches, vomiting, disorientation and enlarged pupils. She was then transferred by ambulance to Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville due to a mass on her brain. They rushed to put 2 brain drain tubes and ultimately performed brain surgery to remove the tumor. It was sent off to biopsy but it kept coming back in conclusive with high grade and low grade cancerous cells. After waiting almost a month they came back with it being low grade cells and had a diagnosis for the tumor, Astrocytoma Glioma. Ellie has been a warrior and shining light through this whole process. She has kept her spirt and sense of humor. Fast forward to now, she has undergone multiple surgeries and hospital stays. She was just readmitted to Norton Children's Hospital on February 9,2023 due to possible fluid retention throughout her body.
Ellie has been named my adopted daughter since her and sweet Ethan came knocking on my door asking if an inflatable pool that blew in their yard was ours. She is the sweetest, kindest and most loving girl. I know EVERYONE in our neighborhood has thought and said the same. We call her our neighborhood daughter. She has a special way of playing and helping with younger children that most girls her age wouldn't have any interest in. She is a special soul and has so many more good things to do in her life.
Ellie's mom is a single parent whose FMLA pay is about to run out. We are asking for donations to help with the ongoing expenses coming in due to Ellie's diagnosis. If you could donate it would be greatly appreciated and definitely needed. If you are unable to please pray for her healing.
