Dear Friends and Family of Elizabeth (Nealis) Merrill,

On Sunday, May 7th, Elizabeth suffered a stroke while at home. She was airlifted to Albany Medical Center where she received excellent care. Elizabeth has progressed through the life-threatening phase of what is anticipated to be an extended recovery.

With your support through Facebook and then through your phone calls, Bissy/Eilzabeth has moved on from both the hospital ICU and (crushed) her rehabilitation center visit. She has started working on walking and even got a workout on one of the new robotic exoskeletons. She is now back home at Honest Brook and taking her next steps. We have updated her part of the house (thanks Pat!!!!!) so it is user-friendly for her but the next steps are going to take time and cost boatloads of money.

Besides paying her medical bills, she'll need in-home care and continued physical therapy to get her (literally) back on her feet. We have fielded many questions about financially supporting her and NOW is the time when she needs this kind of help. Much of the previous medical stuff was covered by insurance, but this next piece is not:-(
