My mom, Elizabeth, was diagnosed with terminal cancer back in 2019, and they indicated to us she likely wouldn't live past the summer of 2021.

 

I dropped everything, quit my job and moved her in overnight to be her full time caregiver.

 

Here's some pictures in the very beginning days of our journey:

 

Our journey has been full of ups + downs over the past couple years.

 

I have seen my mom go from unable to dress herself, being in a walker, with end-of-life in our home to hiking on her own, full of life and getting discharged from palliative care.

 

I have researched and tried just about anything and everything over the past 2.5 years. Health care workers have been astonished at her comeback and had no explanation for her progression. 

 

We even traveled to a facility in Mexico to get alternative treatment during the pedantic that many people helped fund to get us there (which I am deeply humbled and grateful for)

My mom has lived the best quality of life anyone with stage 4 cancer could possibly live and it warms my heart at the thought of all the incredibly happy memories we've created.

Unfortunately my moms health took a dip and I had to take her to emerge on April the 6th 

She hasn't bounced back since. 

She started losing her strength extremely quickly, has lost her appetite and has been showing end-of-life symptoms.

Just days before that, we had gotten her a gym membership and everything was fine but it was almost as if it were overnight that she could no longer dress herself, buckle her own seatbelt or string together her thoughts to hold a conversation. 

I have no idea what happened or what's going to happen but as you can imagine, I have exhausted myself mentally, emotionally physically and financially to maintain my moms quality of life. I have poured everything I have into her well-being.

It's been a tall demand for me to take on and I wouldn't change it for the world but I have to admit... I need support.

 

With my moms health declining as quickly as it has been over the last few weeks, I haven't been able to work or generate any extra income and I need to swallow my pride and ask for help.
