Hi Everyone,
My name is Elif Yildiz. First of all I would like to thank all of you for taking your time to read my story. I grow up with two mentally disable brothers and started taking many challenges in my life in early age to help out my parents for a better future for me and for my brothers. That's why I came to United States, The World's Dream country to bring my dreams alive. I came to United States about 5 years ago as an aupair (live-in nanny), knowing just a little bit English that I can hardly survive. I worked so hard that I did not have time to go to college Full time. However I did not stop, I continued my education part time by taking English as a Second Language courses (writing, reading, grammar, and speaking). It was so difficult for me to concantrate in my education, while I try to learn new language and being away from my parents. I started my journey as a part time student, now here I am graduating from Union County College in May, 2015 with Mathematics degree.
I plan to continue my Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Mathematics as well. After I earn my Master's degree, my goal is to teach at the community college in the United States because I would like to help other students and the community. Unfortunately because I am an International Student, I do not receive Financial aid, and I am not qualify for most of the scholarships. While I am a full time student at the community college, I also work so hard to achieve my dreams.I am the President of couple different Honor Societies to make our community better at the Union County College . I am also a Math, Physics, and computer science tutor at the college and also I do extra other works out side of the college to maintain my income to continue my education.
I would love to be able to spend more time focussing on my studies and to do that I need your help. Working three jobs as well as studying has been very difficult and challenging. However, I managed to hold my GPA 3.94.
I am able to handle to get my associates degree, but I desparetely need your help to continue my bachelors degree due to Universities are too expensive which I cannot affort it. You can absolutely make change in my life by your generous donations. I am planning to transfer to Drew University in September 2015. That's why I need your support. This fundraising I am doing to get my Bachelors Degree in two years. I cannot wait to start a new journey with your supports.
So I ask of you to please help me with this. It means a lot to me that you have even read this far. So please help if you can and please share this with people that you know.
