Help Eli Reach the National Youth Leadership Forum

Hello, we are the Moland family. Our son, Eli is a gifted and talented young man currently attending a Catholic school in our area. Eli maintains a 4.0 GPA, all while excelling at basketball, baseball, and learning classical piano. He is also an avid swimmer and considers himself an “expert” Lego builder (lol). Most importantly, Eli is an amazing big brother to his 2 year old sister and overall a kind and caring person. Because of his maturity and high aptitude at math and science, his 4th grade teacher has nominated him to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum: Pathways to Stem this summer in Chicago, IL. 

The National Youth Leadership Forum is a six day-five night overnight program held at Loyola University in Chicago this summer 2023. Only bright, highly motivated students are singled out by their teachers for a nomination like this. Eli was selected because his teacher recognized exceptional maturity, scholastic merit and leadership potential even at his young age. He will join other young students from around the region in intensive, engaging, hands-on workshops focused on five skills that are essential to success: emotional awareness, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and goal setting. 

Like all activities and sports our children do, we find a way to pay for and make time for them to do it. I have been fortunate enough to coach Eli in baseball and basketball while also working 50-60 hours per week. His mother has been an active “team mom” for each of Eli’s teams and an active volunteer at his school, while maintaining a career as a nurse. Although we live a blessed life, we are currently unable to cover the expenses for this summer program by the April 12 registration deadline, which total over $3,200. 

We are asking for family, friends, and supporters to help our wonderful son continue on his journey to greatness. Every little bit helps and even if we don’t reach our goal, the funds raised will help the family pay the remaining amount!
