Help Our Mom, Elaine Shelly Vogel, Fight Cancer!

Our mother has always been the rock of our family—a fiercely independent, selfless woman who has dedicated her life to providing for her children. She never asks for help, but now she needs it more than ever.

When our father suddenly passed away from a heart attack, she faced the unimaginable: raising two small children (ages 3 and 6) completely on her own, without the support of family. She worked tirelessly, often juggling three jobs to ensure we had everything we needed—not just the basics of food, clothing, and shelter, but also a quality education, warm holidays, and opportunities that she never had herself. She sacrificed everything to give us a better future, always putting our needs above her own.

Even now, she continues to work part-time just to make ends meet, as she was never able to start a retirement fund. However, her recent and unexpected cancer diagnosis has changed everything. Her health has quickly declined, making it nearly impossible for her to continue working. Therefore, the out-of-pocket expenses for her treatment, along with additional living, medical, and personal care costs, will create even more of a significant financial burden.

As her children, we have inherited her independence and self-reliance, but this is a moment where we must reach out to our family, friends, and community for support. Our mother has spent a lifetime caring for others—now it’s time for us to care for her.
