My name is Danielle and I’m 28 years old. I have no children of my own and I need a full hysterectomy. I’m on full scholarship, but my student health insurance won’t cover egg freezing. So, I have to pay 100% out of pocket. I have always wanted to be a mom, However, I have 2 conditions contributing to my infertility. The first is Endometriosis, the leading cause of infertility in women. The second condition, Adenomyosis, is rarer. While Endometriosis can be surgically treated, the only cure for Adenomyosis is a hysterectomy. I have been managing my conditions through a mix of birth controls, estrogen, and other hormones. Earlier this year the meds stopped working. My doctor told me I need to start planning for my hysterectomy. I am asking for any donations to help freeze my eggs.
Even as a child, I always wanted to be a mom. I have spent my entire adult life in school so that I could provide for my future family. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Community/public health from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master’s in Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University. Now, I am a Ph.D. candidate at George Washington University. I want to use my education to make the world a better place. I am passionate about using people’s lived experiences to create and evaluate programs and policies. I have looked into grants and scholarships, but unfortunately, I do not qualify. Most funding available to women is reserved for cancer patients. I am asking for donations - big or small- to help me pay for my egg freezing. It costs about $15,000 to collect, freeze and store my eggs. I am not normally one to ask for help, but I am desperate and out of options. Please consider donating to help me raise the money to freeze my eggs.
