About Eclipse Rugby and Our Dilemma
Eclipse is a new youth rugby club in Phoenix, AZ. We are young and poised for success. However, our startup costs have been high, most of which my family incurred personally. Our club has not been able to afford to do more than the minimum so far.
I believe in keeping player fees low, reducing the hurdles for kids to join and play. To keep fees low, I rigorously shop sales and mix-n-match uniforms that are okay for training or touch rugby, but not for tackle rugby. Right now we cannot afford one 12-uniform set of proper rugby jerseys, and we will be lucky to break even on just our basic expenses as it is.
Our kids need a proper rugby uniform, so we are seeking donations to offset this cost. We have a great design and good price worked out for a new rugby kit, but we simply cannot afford it with our current budget. Each set order requires a minimum of 12. We hope to get 24 uniforms (jersey & shorts) for two youth teams. Each set of 12 is approximately $600 and does not include socks. We set a goal of $1,500 to properly outfit each kid from head to toe.
Your help will allow us to focus our remaining budget on practice field rentals, league dues, end of year awards and miscellaneous expenses. Plus, it gives us momentum to cover uniform expenses on our own moving forward. In my experience, we need just one boost or the break-even point remains a struggle for coaches, parents and the club for at least 2-3 more years.
