Help Make Eazy-E's Hollywood Walk of Fame Star a Reality

Hi, my name is Steve and we are raising money on behalf of Eazy-E fans, friends, and family to apply/be considered for a Star nomination on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Eric Lynn Wright, professionally known as Eazy-E, was an American rapper, record executive, and entrepreneur who was born and raised in Compton, California. He is widely considered one of the most influential figures in hip hop history and is often referred to as the "Godfather of Gangsta Rap". In 1986, Eazy-E founded Ruthless Records, which became one of the most successful independent record labels in the United States with his most notable song "Boyz-n-the-Hood", which would later inspire a movie with the same name. He co-founded the hip hop group N.W.A., along with Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren, DJ Yella, and Arabian Prince.
N.W.A.'s debut album, Straight Outta Compton, was released in 1988 and became a critical and commercial success. Although controversial for its explicit lyrics about violence, drugs, and sex, it helped to popularize gangsta rap and make it a mainstream genre. In addition to his work with N.W.A., he helped launch the careers of several other artists, including Bone Thugs-n-Harmony and the Black Eyed Peas. Eazy-E's entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to giving back to the community were also notable, donating his time and money to many different causes, including Athletes and Entertainers for Kids, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and frequently took busloads of inner-city kids to amusement parks and events.
Eazy-E continued to release solo albums and executive produce music for other artists throughout the late 1980s to mid-1990s. He hosted his own radio segment called the Ruthless Radio Show on KKBT 92.3 The Beat which played music and hosted interviews in the genre. Eazy-E's legacy in the music industry and the culture of hip hop was immense. He helped to shape the genre and bring it to a wider audience. Eazy-E's impact on the music industry was so significant that he was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016 as a member of N.W.A. shortly after the commercial success of their biographical drama film “Straight Outta Compton”. Despite his short life, Eazy-E's legacy lives on through his music, his kids, his philanthropic efforts, and the countless artists he influenced and inspired throughout his career.
The news of Eazy-E's diagnosis with AIDS in 1995 and subsequent death at the young age of 30 was a heartbreaking and tragic event for his fans, family, and the hip hop community as a whole. His death brought attention to the stigma surrounding AIDS and the need for greater awareness and resources for those affected by the disease. Eazy-E will always be remembered as a true pioneer of gangta rap and a cultural icon.

The application fee is $250. Any additional funds will go towards installing the star if nominated.
