"On April 30, 2015 , our handsome Easton Cole was born. We had no idea that he would be born with CHD consisting of DORV (double outlet right ventricle), transposition of the great arteries, subvalvar pulmonary stenosis, ventricular septal defect, and ventricular inversion. He was transported to UVA shortly after he was born and fortunately we were able to stay home for a couple months and skip the first surgery. Easton had a heart cath August 4th and they decided to schedule his Glen surgery for August 11th. Easton took his time recovering and had a couple minor complications along the way. The doctors told us a few days after surgery that they found a spot on his brain that they thought was blood. They did another ultrasound the next day to find out that the brain bleed was a false alarm! (Definitely believe this was the power of prayer!!!) Easton is currently still in PICU because his oxygen sats kept dropping and he couldn't pull them back up on his own. We are hoping to soon move to the intermediate hall where he will stay for a little while and continue to recover before we can go home. Prayers for healing and comfort for our baby would be greatly appreciated and also praying for all of the other children and families here at UVA.
