It is with great pleasure the Eagle Academy Foundation shares another successful year helping its Eagle Scholars activate life-changing possibilities.
David Burgos, Eagle Bronx 2016 graduate, began his freshmen year at SUNY Buffalo State this fall. The journey to Buffalo was no small accomplishment either. David attended over 16 college visits that were made possible through our College Readiness program. When he arrived on campus, he was embraced by a nest of thirteen other Eagle Scholars to help support his transition to college life.
Thanks to Eagle Academy, David spent a day with the cast of the Broadway play “Finding Neverland”, where experienced his dream life of being an actor. David wrote us an email recently expressing his appreciation of the value his Eagle experience provided:
“From Fox News to ‘Finding Neverland,’ each opportunity has given me a particular skill set that I use to this day... and as a freshman theater major at SUNY, I have been cast as an understudy for one of the theater department's fall productions, ‘The Mousetrap’. I have also just recently performed in the department's “Freshman Showcase” and have an audition for an upcoming play outside of Buffalo State later in December.”
At Eagle Academy, we are proud of our 84% high school graduation rate as well as our 98% college admission rate. What often goes unnoticed is the important works we do empowering our Eagle Scholars to dream big and soar like eagles beyond their boundaries.
As 2016 comes to a close, I am asking that you support our EAF College Readiness Program. These programs are made possible by people like you and we are forever grateful that you have made our scholars a priority.
Your support will help students like David Burgos close the achievement gap and access opportunities that help them reach their full potential.
Just like our students rely on Eagle Academy, Eagle Academy relies on you!
Soaring High,
