Tami Quinn is a single grandmother raising her four grandchildren. She works full-time and juggles four different school schedules and after school activities for each of them.

On October 23rd, she watched her home go up in flames and lost EVERYTHING.

When I arrived, I found Tami wrapped in a blanket, standing with a police officer, watching as the fire department attempted to save her home. I was crying as I approached my friend. Tami gave me a big hug and smiled at me and said "Dont cry Sarah, everything will be okay." As I was walking back to my car, she reassured me again that "it would be okay" as she passed by me in the cop car.

Red Cross put her in a hotel with the kids and her daughter, whos trying to finish her college courses at the U of M.

She was praying to be able to salvage some of their possessions like the kids clothes, toys blankets, family pictures, mementos, beautiful pieces of her native heritage, keepsakes, etc. Her legacy.

Tami has always been there when her friends and family needed her in life's struggles. She is trying hard to make this devastating fire as easy as possible for her grandchildren and daughter. A very strong woman, who puts everyone before herself. Most importantly, she really needs our prayers as she goes forward from this.
They have to start over, let go of the past, and trust that God indeed has a plan. She's never lost faith, regardless of what challenges she's faced and conquered.

Tami does have home owners insurance, so she is covered when it comes to rebuilding, but it will be a long road to be in the comfort of her own home where she can start making new memories.

All the things that fill a home, like furniture, appliances, light fixtures, cookware, beds, tables, chairs and electronics are going to be needed. Bedding and clothing, shoes and coats, school supplies and other necessities for the kids also need to be replaced.

We cannot replace the cherished items that are now gone, but we can attempt to heal her heart with our coming together to help stand behind her and her family as a community.
