The Landon Project
Update: got the bill for what the insurence wont cover now our bill is $120,255.52 cents. trying to figuer out what i can do to lower it or get it taken care of. I had to leave my job to look after landon full time and i have not recived any income in 3 mo. Just trying to keep a float.
Update: landon has been doing really well at home. That said we are back in the hospital. Landon decided he was done with the nose feeding tube (ng tube) and after 3 tubes and 2 days missed work. The hospital decided they should keep him to fatten him up. He needs to be at least 50lb for surgery and he is sitting at 48.3 lb now.
When we got into the hospital they did an x-ray and found he had another blockage in his colon. So first things first that needs to be taken care of. This might be a sign of another medical problem but were not shure yet. Last time (2/8) there was almost 10lb of stool there. I hope for the sake of the surgery its not that much. We had him on a regiment of maylax at home so we had no way of knowing there was a back up. We were changing upto 15 diapers a day. (And they aint cheep lol)
It has been one of the hardest things i have ever taken on, and i would do it all over again in a heart beat. So with the renewed dr visit were trying to cover hrs lost at work for rent and gas back and forth to the dr. Not to mention the bills for all the medical procedures. Again i want to thank everyone for there help so far. Means the world to us.
Thank you to all the people for there love and support in our families difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers mean so much to us. We have been asked by family and friends how they can help. We're making this as a way to consolidate information and help.
As some of you may know landon came down from Oregon 3 weeks ago, Completely by surprise. When landon showed up he looked extremely pail and thin. I immediately brought him into the emergency room at County Hospital. We learned that landon was EXTREMELY malnourished and his hemoglobin level was dangerously low. We were then rushed to Children's Hospital in Oakland for an emergency Blood Transfusion. He is now stabilized and his refeeding is underway.
3 weeks and 4 procedures later landon is on the right track. The team of doctors and nurses at children's hospital are amazing and he is in the best hands.
landon is a lot of things. Playfull, loving, and kind. His favorite thing in the worl is SpongeBob! He is also Nonverbal Autistic and has a few other developmental issues.
For those of you wishing to help, thank you so much. If you wish to donate funds to help pay for a few things also if you would wish to help with any of thing it would be so appreciated.
Diapers (landons autism has made it hard to poty train ontop of the new medical issues we are now discovering) he is in size 6
Clothing (landon came down with only the clothes on his back. So we are trying to build up a wardrobe) we belive landon is in a size 4 but until we get out of the hospital that may change dramatically.
Bed and furnishings: we had no idea mom was coming down with landon. We were not prepared! We went from a two person home to 5 and now 6. We are currently looking for a bigger place to accommodate our growing family and he will need a bed and a few other things.
