Dylan Needs You Now
Donation protected
Dylan, an only child, is a bright and outgoing 10-year-old with dreams of becoming a locksmith. Dylan also has brain cancer and is legally blind.
Dylan's mom has dedicated herself to Dylan's care, education, and overall wellbeing, and fights every day as Dylan's biggest cheerleader and advocate.
Dylan has been on treatment with periodic tumor growth since just after a year old. That's a long time for anyone to get chemotherapy, especially in a growing child.
Most recent MRI results showed there has been growth. The doctors were surprised by the growth rate and will be changing treatment asap.
This means a referral to neurosurgery.
Next step will be genetic testing of the biopsy tissue sample to determine whether Dylan is eligible to participate in a clinical trial treatment. Surprisingly, insurance covers everything involved with the brain surgery, including hospital stay, anesthesia, meds, etc.
What nobody told me is that insurance does NOT pay for the testing and it must be paid in full before testing can be done, so the sample is just sitting in a lab somewhere, hopefully. Just more red tape instead of just treating the patient.
As they say, folks, it takes a village, and we're asking this village to step up and help Dylan face this new challenge and maybe give mom a little help too.
Anything helps the family through this rough time, there is no limit on what to give, any amount is more than what we started with!
Happy Holidays!!!
Thank you SO much,
