Covid-19 has hit many families we know with life-changing outcomes, and unfortunately, this has also become a reality for ours. For the past three weeks our family has been shattered by a tragedy, and one that could potentially cost a loved father, husband, and friend.
On September 19th, 2021, our dad was admitted to the hospital due to complications with Covid-19. He was struggling with Hypoxia, dangerously low oxygen levels, and severe Covid symptoms. He fought with everything he had for over a week, but unfortunately due to the trauma his body sustained during the battle, it was decided on Monday September 27th that intubation was his best chance for survival. Because of the damage done to his lungs, and other complications known of severe Covid infection, we have been told that things aren’t looking good, and that we need to be ready for a deeply unwanted outcome.
If he does manage to recover, his road to quality life will be long and difficult, potentially keeping him from work for the foreseeable future. Dwayne is a hard worker and provides the primary source of income for his family, including his Wife, our mother, and his young daughter, our youngest sister. Due to the hardships of the illness, and the difficulties our family may face in future months, we are reaching out to ask for aid and prayers to help provide stability to our mother and sister.
While we know we are not alone in this battle, and that many are facing painful hardships at this time, any help for our family would be deeply appreciated. The aid given will go to ensuring that our family is provided for, and that their needs are met. It will also give our mother and sister time to grieve, and process through the traumas that have already occurred, and any further future trials as we continue to work through this painful process.
