Dublin Steiner School Fundraiser

The Dublin Steiner School is steeped in history. Originally known as the Liberty Crèche, as Dublin's oldest childcare facility it is culturally historic and was well ahead of its time in its day. It opened its doors in 1893 to provide childcare for working mothers, most of whom were street traders on Thomas Street. This unique building, with all its colourful heritage, holds deep historical value within the community. Well over a century on, it continues to nurture the needs of children and is the proud home of Dublin's first Steiner school.

This beloved building, so embedded in the fabric of the city's iconic Meath Street, urgently requires restoration - including basic structural work, upgrading the front façade, repairing detail in the basement, as well as replacing its old sash windows.

Our aim is to raise €170K to begin this much-needed repair work, to keep our connection to our past yet restore this property to a better version of its glorious original building. Any donations gratefully accepted.
