Operation Down, But Not Out!

During the morning of Sunday, November 15th, 2015 the Andrews Family of Davenport, IA suffered a devastating blow when our Mother, Tanya (53) went into a diabetic coma and was just minutes from dying when she was found by her mother unresponsive when she didn't answer repeated phone calls.

Our three younger brothers (12, 11, 9) were living with her at the time and did not understand the situation (they thought she was sleeping) and now feel somewhat guitly (they shouldn't feel that way!) for not having said something sooner and it breaks our heart.

Having since been hospitalized our mother took a drastic turn for the worse when it was also discovered that she was also suffering from a severe skin infection which has since gone septic.  Like dominos, this has led to her kidneys failing, a blood infection, pnuemonia, and extremely painful wounds all over her body leaving her on life support ever since.

The Andrews Family consists of our mother, and us 5 boys.  I'm the oldest brother (34) and have a family of my own (15, 12, 5) and had promised my mother that if anything ever happened to her that I would care for my brothers (and keep them together) and so my wife and I are doing just that.

We now have 6 kids to feed, house, and care for and two of them are disabled (my 15 year old son is handicapped) and my brother (9 year old has SMA and is wheelchair bound).

We pray every day that our mother will pull out of all of these illnesses and we are doing our best to care for the boys.  Even when she recovers there will be at least a year or more of aftercare services required for our mother and so we're in this for the long hall, just as I promised her we would be.

Unfortunately our mother didn't have the legal paperwork in place in an event such as this.  We had to hire multiple lawyers to hand over their care to us for medical and schooling purposes and beside the food, housing, school, and medical costs, the lawyers can get very expensive.

Anything you can do to help is MUCH appreciated by my wife, I,  and especially the boys.
