Hi, my name is Penny. My dad passed away on Tuesday February 6th, 2024, as many of you know my father, Doug was a devoted East Windsor K-9 handler/trainer for most of his 28 years as a police officer. He and Erin, my mom had 3 amazing children Mason(19), Ryan(17) and myself(16). After close to 10 years of marriage they decided to divorce. My mom remarried and had my sister Maeve(10), who had a remarkable relationship with Doug. Maeve often referred to my dad as her step-dad. Doug's health had declined over the past few years but was still committed to training dogs, writing a novel, which I would love to publish one day if the funds are available. He was a huge advocate and incredible supporter of the Enfield police explorers. Because of that, along with the knowledge that he had passed down to me, I made Captain this past January. I will lead my post in a way that will make him proud of me every day, until we meet again. I would like to thank all who reads this and is able to assist in the cost of the services and his legacy on to his children. The service is to be held on February 17th at Bassinger and Dowd funeral home at 12-4 in East Windsor. I know that St. Michael is watching over him, myself and siblings.
