It is with heavy heart that we announce the tragic death of our little brother Akok Lual who was gunned down on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Armory Square Downtown Syracuse New York. He was one of the 5 victims shot including his little brother Lual who’s currently being treated for gunshot wounds at the local hospital.

Akok is described by his family and friends as a gentle and selfless soul who cared deeply about his family and friends. He was kind, intelligent, ambitious, generous and full of life, he was his mother’s pride and joy and his father’s first true friend.

 

Akok was born in Cairo, Egypt on March, 23, 1998, first born to Mary Anyuon  and Peter Lual who fled civil war from Sudan to Egypt were they applied for immigration, after many years of waiting, they were finally resettled in Syracuse, NY in 2005 where Akok and his siblings attended Our Lady of Pompeii for elementary school, Bishop Graham High for 3 years before transferring to Henninger High School.

 

Akok was survived by his parents, Peter Lual and Mary Anyuon  and his 5 siblings Lual, Thiep, Aluel, Aguer, and Dabb.

 

Due the this sudden loss, the family is need of financial support to cover Akok funeral expenses and his brother Lual medical expenses. No family should have to have to through what Lual family is currently going through.

 

Any amount will be appreciated, let’s help them cover Akok burial expenses and Lual medical expenses.
