Hi, my name is Mikayla, and I never imagined I would be in a position where I’d need to ask for help like this.

Over the past few months, my health has taken a sudden and confusing turn. I began experiencing neurological symptoms that I still don’t have clear answers for. What started as leg weakness has progressed into episodes where I lose control of my legs, intense nerve pain, full-body “electric shock” sensations, dizziness, and moments where I feel disoriented or out of my body.

During these episodes, my legs can become extremely rigid and painful, sometimes contorting or locking into positions that I can’t control. It can be frightening and physically exhausting, and afterward I’m often left weak and unable to function normally.

I’ve also developed numbness and tingling in my face and lips, along with ongoing fatigue and brain fog that make it difficult to function day to day.

At this point, I am physically unable to work, even if I wanted to. There are days where I struggle just to move, and the unpredictability of these episodes makes it unsafe and unrealistic for me to commit to any kind of work schedule.

I’ve been in and out of appointments, tests, and hospital visits trying to figure out what’s happening. While some serious conditions have been ruled out, I am still without a clear diagnosis, which has been both frustrating and scary.

Because of this, I’ve had to step away from work. Unfortunately, I don’t currently qualify for EI, and being unable to work has put me in a very difficult financial position.

Right now, I’m trying to focus on my health, continue testing, and find answers. I’m also struggling to keep up with basic expenses like rent, groceries, and day-to-day living costs.

More than anything, I just want to be able to feel like myself again and be here for my baby girl in the best way I can.

Asking for help is not easy for me, but I truly need support to get through this period of uncertainty. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much and help relieve some of the stress while I focus on getting better.
