On June 17th our lives changed in an instant.
My dad, Tim, underwent spinal surgery with hopes of improving his health and quality of life. What should have been a routine recovery quickly turned into a medical emergency. Following surgery, my dad suffered serious complications that required emergency treatment and additional surgery on June 20th.
As a result of these complications, my dad lost movement and sensation in his legs due to a large hematoma severely compressing his spinal cord. He is currently hospitalized while his medical team works to determine the full extent of his injury and develop the best plan for recovery. We are hopeful, but we know the road ahead may involve extensive rehabilitation, ongoing medical care, and significant life adjustments. This has been devastating for my family. In a matter of days, we have gone from planning for a normal recovery to facing an uncertain future and mounting expenses. As we focus on supporting my dad and advocating for his care, we are struggling with the financial impact of this crisis. Funds raised will help cover:
Rent and household expenses
Utilities and monthly bills
Travel and gas for hospital visits and medical appointments
Lodging expenses if my dad is transferred for specialized care or rehabilitation
Meals and daily living expenses during his hospitalization
Lost income as we navigate his recovery and care needs
Anyone who knows my dad knows he is hardworking, caring, and always willing to help others. Seeing my dad face this challenge has been heartbreaking, but we are holding onto hope and taking each day one step at a time.
We understand that not everyone is able to donate, and we are grateful for any support. Sharing this fundraiser, keeping my dad in your thoughts, and sending words of encouragement are all deeply appreciated.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial burden on our family and allow us to focus on what matters most—my dad’s recovery and rehabilitation.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, prayers, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
With gratitude,
The Sanchez family
