Art for the Future: Give Children a Chance to Create and Learn
Organizer: LAHO Foundation in partnership with TACT Playhouse Collective
Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Purpose: Art for the Future is a community-powered initiative that brings art education to life, supporting and empowering young learners through creativity, hands-on learning, and meaningful community engagement.
Why We’re Raising $1,500
In many communities, bright young minds shine with potential, but without the right tools, it’s like planting seeds in dry soil. They need support, nourishment, and space to grow.
This campaign is about changing that.
The LAHO Foundation, in partnership with TACT Playhouse Collective, is launching Art for the Future, a grassroots initiative beginning in Lagos, Nigeria. We're raising $1,500 to support a local private school with:
- Art supplies and materials – so creativity doesn’t stop at the classroom door
- Vocational and creative workshops – giving students practical skills they can build a future on
- Mentorship and educational support – connecting kids with guidance and encouragement
- Better classroom conditions – because every child deserves to learn in a space that inspires
This isn’t just about art. It’s about giving children the canvas and the colours to paint their own future, to dream, to grow in confidence, and to learn in an environment that hears their voice and values their vision.
Your support can help turn a small classroom into a launchpad for hope and creativity.
About LAHO Foundation
Laho Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing art education and artist development across Nigeria. We empower emerging artists through mentorship, resources, and global exposure, most notably through initiatives like the Laho Artist Development Programme.
Our work spans creative education, professional development, and community engagement. We aim to support art educators with training, provide under-resourced schools with essential materials, and offer scholarships and exchange programs to foster international collaboration.
Laho is committed to nurturing creativity, preserving cultural heritage, and building a vibrant, sustainable future for Nigerian art.
What This Campaign Supports
This fundraiser supports a private school in Lagos, Nigeria, where many children face limited access to extracurricular education, skill-building opportunities, and supportive learning environments.
- Creative and vocational learning resources are lacking
- Students have little exposure to practical, future-ready skills
- Families often cannot afford better educational options
With your help, we aim to provide:
Basic vocational workshops that teach practical skills like canvas stretching, crafting, and other hands-on activities
Creative skill-building sessions that promote problem-solving, confidence, and self-reliance
Essential materials and classroom improvements to create a more comfortable, engaging place to learn
Your Impact
$25 = Art supplies for 2 students
$50 = Full creative workshop for a classroom
$100+ = Infrastructure support (materials, fans, classroom comforts)
Your support, no matter the amount, helps us:
- Run practical creative workshops
- Provide mentorship and skill-building opportunities
- Encourage education through emotional wellness and expression
This Is Just the Beginning
We're not here to create perfect artists.
We're here to help children believe in themselves and see that their creativity matters.
