Why We Exist

Around the world, people face injustice simply because of who they are or where they live. They are denied to live in humane circumstances, suffer from discriminated or battle every day against powerful systems that don't favour them. These violations happen every day, often with no accountability or justice. The case of Shalimar Abbiusi the founder of I Am Human, who faced mistreatment, unlawful incarceration, re-arrest after a court discharged her, and unlawful deportation for speaking up for human rights. This is just one example of how people’s rights can be abused without proper oversight.

But together, we can change this.

Living in Africa, it opened Shalimar's eyes and exposed her to the circumstances and problematics people deal with every day. It ignited a fire within her to help more people and use her influence to impact lives and society in a positive way.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through advocacy, education, legal support and charity. I Am Human has done multiple projects such as health care screenings, donations for disaster relief and continuous advocacy for human rights. Whether it’s fighting against arbitrary detention, abuse of power, or systemic discrimination, I Am Human is on the front lines, ensuring that no one is left behind. We are committed to safeguarding the dignity of people and help them by providing tailor made solutions for a dignified human existence through education, projects, financial support, health care, each project tailor made to the needs of the specific region, country, tribe,..
