Earlier this year my Dad was diagnosed with a fast growing, aggressive bladder cancer. Unfortunately with how quickly the cancer has progressed this means that Dad has been left with no other choice but life altering surgery.

Many of you will know Sean from the LARP field where he has been running Skian Mhor for over 30 years and Mhorish for over 10, or perhaps from similar events such as Fantasy Forest Festival where after helping to transport and set up Mhorish you will find him in the Wastes next to his modified Truck. He has a heart of gold and always finds the time and resources to help others.

When not in the field He plays an active part in village life. He recently used the workshop as a warm space for the vulnerable in the community, each year he puts up and takes down the Christmas lights for the village, stores and helps to maintain them.

After living such an active and involved life these next few months are daunting, after we celebrate his birthday on the 10th of August Dad goes into hospital on the 12th of August for major surgery which will remove his bladder leaving him bed ridden for a time and disabled for the rest of his life. This leaves his future and the future of Skian Mhor up in the air. Having been self employed for over 30 years and raising 2 sons through his business it’s unclear if or how Dad and Skian Mhor will move forward.

So to help make the immediate future less stressful and taxing I am asking for your help and donations, anything you can give would be greatly appreciated and will help keep Dad focused on his recovery rather than financial worries. I will be getting him a get well soon card for when he wakes after surgery so if you would like to have a message added to the card please let me know.
