Help Leo Get a Specialist Trike for Cerebral Palsy Therapy

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Leo. I’m 15 years old and I live with cerebral palsy, which means everyday things like movement and staying active can be a lot harder for me than most people my age.

When I was younger, I remember my friends going out on bike rides together, laughing, racing each other, and just enjoying being kids. I wanted to be part of that so badly, but it wasn’t something my body would let me do.

I come from a family of five, and my mum works incredibly hard to support all of us on her own. With so much going on at home, it isn’t always easy for me to find the time and space to keep up with my physiotherapy and stretches the way I should.

I’ve often wished I could do the simple things with my siblings, like racing them around our street, just laughing and somehow keeping up.

Like any other teenager, I just want to feel normal. I want to be outside, moving, exploring, and enjoying life without constantly being reminded of my limits. But the reality is, my condition makes that difficult without the right support.

A specialist Tomcat trike would genuinely change that for me. It’s not just a piece of equipment, it’s a chance to feel independent, to move more freely, and to take part in things I often feel left out of. It would also give me a way to keep up with my physiotherapy while doing something I actually enjoy, turning something that can feel like a chore into part of everyday life.

I actually had a specialist trike when I was around five years old, and we saw a real, positive change in my mobility at the time. Sadly, I grew out of it, and we haven’t been able to afford another one since.

The specific trike I need is the Tomcat Apprentice Bullet. While the base price starts at around £2,061 in the UK, the adaptations and supports I need to use it safely bring the total cost closer to £4,000.

To most people, it might just look like an overpriced piece of equipment with the label “disability aid” attached to it. But to me, it’s freedom.

Right now, I’m trying to raise enough to make this possible. Every donation, no matter how small, brings me closer to something that would make a real difference in my life, both physically and emotionally.

This isn’t just about getting from one place to another. It’s about freedom, confidence, and finally having the chance to join in.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story, and for any support you’re able to give or share.
