My name is Grace Engelhardt, I am the sister of Deborah Jarmula and sister in law to Donald Jarmula , I am starting this Go Fund me to help Deborah and Donald Jarmula who has had a tragedy recently and i need to help them in any way i can.
On Jan 4 ,2018 it snowed in NC which was the night before Donald's accident on JAN 5 ,2018 and the Business parking lot where he was at was covered in snow. Donald got out of his truck and proceeded to walk towards the passenger side when he slipped and fell really hard on his left knee. Donald was taken by Ambulance to the local hospital.
The reason why Donald slipped was that there was actually ice underneath the snow.
When Donald fell, he hit the knee so hard that had actually Shredded his Patella Tendon
*The patella is a small bone located in front of the knee joint — where the thighbone (femur) and shinbone (tibia) meet. It protects the knee and connects the muscles in the front of the thigh to the tibia. for those who don't know*
on Jan 11 ,2018 Donald needed surgery on his left knee, Donald wound up with aboutr 30 Staples to close his knee and now has anchors holding his cartlige and tendons by a thread . His surgeon had told him that if his knee moves the wrong way at all, chances are he might not walk again. Donald will have to go the Physical Therapy 2-3 times a week starting Jan 30.2018 , and it will be a long road to recovery and not a guarantee it will be a full recovery. Doctor saying about 6 -8 months or maybe even longer for his recovery and therapy . My sister will now have to use most of her weekly income each week to just cover the co pays which are from $35.00-$50.00 a visit not including the orthopedic visits and this will be a big hardship for them with paying rent , buying food and paying monthly household bills. It's sad that they don't even qualify for any services to even help them.
Since Donald's surgery, Deborah is trying to figure out how to pay all theses bills by herself. She already works a full time job and is hard for her to find and work a pt job as she has to care for her husband and the household too, She can't leave her husband for too long he needs lots of help even to just get dressed, Donald needs assistance with his daily life. MyM sister is stressed to her limit and I worry about her health too.
For anyone who knows my sister Deborah, knows she's a strong willed woman who won't ask anyone for help and knows how Stubborn she is , She would rather go without before she ask's anyone for help. She will always tell you things are okay when asked and will not tell you she needs help. I know my sister and I know that she is to proud to say anything , but II amnow asking for help for her and her husband , She needs the help and if you could find it in your heart to help them in anyway please do so.
