When I was 5 years old, my biological father left and for that I am grateful, because it put Don Dixon in my life. Don is my dad by choice. He chose to be my dad. My mom died when I was 12 and he raised me like I was his own. At no point was it ever a question. I was his son. I'm not sure they make a lot of men like that anymore.
He doesn't have much money but he's got a lot of love. Some might venture to say he's got a shit ton of love.
A month ago my dad Don was in a terrible motorcycle accident and was in a coma for over a week. He has since gone to rehab and is back home working towards rebuilding himself and his life, very slowly but consistantly.
Unfortunately, hospital bills that run into the 6 digits and the inability to work has put a big ole strain on him and his wife and family. They don't have much and every week is a struggle to put food on the table and keep a roof over there head.
This is where you come in.
I am trying to raise enough money to fasiliate my dad's recovery, to keep him afloat until the doctors tell him he is okay to work. His wife, Grace, works at a grocery store and cleans houses and has been working way more hours than most people who don't have a husband going through this kind of thing.
Not enough to pay off his bills but enough to keep a house over his head and help with physical therapy, and food, for a short amount of time.
I'm doing what I can over here, but whatever you can do would be a tremendous help.
I've always felt that everyone gets one shot at a fund-me project and this will be mine. I promise to never ask you to finace my buddy cop film (Super Dog Cop: Woof, There It Is.)
Life hasn't been easy for my dad, and despite all the nightmares this guy has been through, he has kept a good attitude and never blamed anyone else for anything. And he managed to raise two super weird kids.
So if you have it to spare and can find it in your heart, I would love it if we could make my dad's recovery a little easier for just a little while.
Either way thank you so much and I love you.
